AWS Lambda Updates Code Storage
AWS Lambda now allows self-managed code storage, increasing default storage limit
AWS Lambda has introduced a new feature that enables users to reference deployment packages directly from customer-owned S3 buckets. This update removes the per-Region code storage quota and increases the managed default storage limit from 75 GB to 300 GB. However, the per-function package limits remain unchanged, and users are still required to use UpdateFunctionCode after replacing an object. The update is a result of AWS Lambda's efforts to provide more flexibility and control to its users.
Why it matters
This update is significant as it allows users to have more control over their code storage and deployment. It also highlights the importance of cloud storage and management in modern application development.
