Google Introduces Looker Agentic Workflows
Automate data monitoring and root-cause analysis with intelligent background agents
Google has introduced Looker Agentic Workflows, a new capability in Looker that automates metric monitoring and root-cause analysis. This feature uses intelligent background agents to continuously monitor business data and provide notifications when a metric crosses a defined threshold.
The workflow can be set up simply by prompting the agent with a natural language query, such as asking to monitor return rates weekly or notify when the average order value exceeds a certain amount. The agent then interprets the intent, confirms specific threshold conditions, and generates a workflow configuration plan for review before launching the monitor.
When a metric crosses the defined threshold, the background agent sends a notification and can automatically run a Key Driver Analysis (KDA) to deliver root-cause analysis in Slack and email.
