Certificates and keyword-matched CVs still open doors, but what happens after the door opens is increasingly practical: take-home labs, live incident walkthroughs, code review under observation, and pointed questions about AI-era threats that did not appear in older curricula. The fundamentals still decide most interviews
Despite the AI noise, the majority of technical screening time still goes to fundamentals, because they predict on-the-job performance better than anything else.
