One published price for every team, no team discount. Plus tax where it applies.
AI is already inside Sri Lanka’s networks and help desks.
Operators are putting AI into customer care, network tuning and the products they sell. The training follows the people who now work beside it.
Taking the cases the assistant cannot close
Dialog upgraded DIA, its WhatsApp and app assistant, with AI in August 2026, for PIN resets, package changes, balance checks and roaming. Agents take the escalations and complaints, so they need to know what the assistant did first.
Checking what the network AI suggests
Dialog trialled Meta’s Llama models to optimise call quality and video in 2025, and SLT-Mobitel’s GenAI network and service toolkit won a TM Forum award in 2024. NOC engineers learn to question, check and act on what these tools suggest.
Selling AI, not only data
Operators now package AI for their customers, such as SLT-Mobitel’s Hello AI bundle with data for AI and learning platforms. Sales teams need to explain what AI does for a business before they can sell it.
Subscriber data meets AI tools
Operators hold personal data on millions of subscribers. From 1 January 2027 the data law’s impact assessments and breach notification apply to the AI tools that read it.
The rules your training has to respect
The TRCSL had published no AI guidance as of October 2026. The data law is the rule that decides how AI may use subscriber data.
- The Personal Data Protection Act No. 9 of 2022: processing rules, Data Protection Officers, impact assessments and breach notification from 1 January 2027
- Your own data and security policies, which every exercise is checked against before it runs on real work

Four ways Sri Lankan companies train a team in AI.
Each one fits a different need. Most companies end up mixing two.
- Route 1
Open courses at a university or institute
Fits when a few people need a certificate from a name your sector knows, such as SLIIT or the University of Moratuwa.
Watch for weekend schedules, one person at a time, and courses built for individuals rather than your team’s work.
- Route 2
A corporate trainer for a day
Fits when you want one hands-on workshop, online or on site in Colombo.
Watch for what happens after the day: most workshops leave no graded record of who can now do what.
- Route 3
Vendor courses for the tools you already use
Fits when your company is standardising on Microsoft 365 Copilot, Google Gemini or AWS and wants people trained on that tool.
Watch for a vendor course teaches the tool, not your workflow; non-technical teams usually need both.
- Route 4
A team trained and measured together (Square1 Ai)
Fits when you want every person placed by a test, taught live, graded on real work and measured again at week 12.
Watch for it takes a few hours a week from each person, and the results depend on them doing the work.
AI training for telecom companies in Sri Lanka: your questions.
How much does AI training for a telecom team cost in Sri Lanka?
Live online courses are LKR 22,500 a person for a team of five or more, and in-person training is LKR 150,000 a day for up to 20 people. A four-week Sprint that builds one AI workflow with your team is LKR 750,000, and twelve weeks of Train + build is LKR 2,250,000. One published price for every company, plus tax where it applies.
Which telecom teams should train first?
Customer care, because AI assistants now answer the routine requests; network operations, where AI suggests fixes; and enterprise sales, who now sell AI. The readiness test places each person, so a NOC engineer and a care agent do not sit the same course.
Does the TRCSL have rules on AI?
We found no TRCSL guidance on AI as of October 2026. The Personal Data Protection Act No. 9 of 2022 is the rule that applies: its processing rules and duties on impact assessments and breach notification take effect on 1 January 2027. The training is not legal advice.
Is there a telecom-specific AI course in Sri Lanka?
We found none published as of October 2026. The open AI courses from the University of Moratuwa and SLIIT are general, and are compared further down this page. Our courses use your own care, network and sales work as the exercises.
Can you train our staff in our offices?
In-person training in Sri Lanka is LKR 150,000 a day for up to 20 people, with no travel added, as one day or a series of days. Live online sessions run on Sri Lanka time, which never changes its clocks.
What does a Sprint build for a telecom company?
One workflow your team picks, built with your people inside your own accounts over four weeks: for example sorting complaint tickets by cause, summarising network incident logs for the morning review, or drafting enterprise proposals from a product sheet. It ends with a pilot and a 30-question test, and the fee of LKR 750,000 counts toward Train + build if you continue within 30 days.
Why train a telecom team in AI now?
Because the operators already run AI in care and in the network, and launched commercial 5G in December 2025. The teams who work beside those systems need to know how to check them, and the data law’s main duties start on 1 January 2027.
Train your telecom teams in AI, measured from week one.
Tell us which teams and how many people. The founder replies with the offering that fits, and dates for live online or a day in your offices.
